5 Ways to Sell More of Your Product

smile with teeth and lips

Have something to smile about.

You have spent your time building a product. Now it’s time for you to sell the product and earn revenue. You need people who are interested in your product and want to buy it. In other words, you must start looking for customers. This is the real challenge. You need to attract people towards your product and compel them to buy it. It might sound easy but in reality it’s not.  How can you attract customers towards your product and finally sell the product to them?

Try Building Connections

The first word in sales is building connections or networking. How can you make connections? It’s easy.  Sign up on LinkedIn and become a member of different groups and communities there, answer questions on Quora and also make some calls to experts on Clarity. Try to find genuine people who are interested in your product.  While you are interacting with people using these platforms, remember that your priority should be to build great relationships and strengthen your network. Do not try selling your product at the very outset.

Offer free trials

Customers are hesitant to spend money on brands that are not popular. Offer a free trial of your product for your customers. Once customers have used your product for free, they will feel more comfortable paying for it. Clearly display the length of the free trial on your website. Offering a free trial is the latest sales strategy. It has helped many new brands add customers.

Look for partnership opportunities

You can also try teaming up with bigger brands. You can offer your product or service as an add-on to an existing product. For example, if you have developed a comprehensive suite to help online marketers, try to find a brand that complements your product. You can offer your product as an add-on to the original product. When you find there’s a good demand for your product, then you can sell it as a standalone product.

Try to be in the real world as well as the virtual online one

Although it’s often advised to go online to find customers, one must try the traditional ways of marketing and selling as well. You should not always stay glued to your Facebook page and Twitter account. Spend some time meeting people and attending trade shows as well. No one can deny the importance of face-to-face meetings. Maintain a regular schedule to meet real people in the real world. Create a list of important trade shows and conferences related to your business domain and try attending some of them.

Keep customers happy

This may sound cliché – and you must have already heard it a number of times – but that does not reduce the importance of this statement:  Once you have customers, keep them happy because word-of-mouth referrals only come from happy customers. A referral network is also a great way to develop a healthy customer base.  You can work with other businesses and set up a way to refer and share customers.
